NZVNA Continuing Professional Development Scheme

To login to the CPD scheme click on the following image

This Scheme has been developed to meet the requirements of New Zealand veterinary nurses who wish to maintain their professional currency, to increase their knowledge and skill levels, and to gain recognition for that work. New Zealand veterinary nurses have proved themselves to be a motivated professional group who take full advantage of the continuing education opportunities offered to them. This scheme enables that motivation to be recognised by colleagues, clients and potential employers alike.

The NZVNA has formulated a plan for Continuing Profession Development (CPD) using various NZVNA- approved delivery methods, and each being awarded points. The aim is for a veterinary nurse to accrue 20 points per year to attain a currency certificate. The CPD Scheme has been designed so that it is possible to complete it within the year even if you are not able to attend the Annual Conference or local seminars. The NZVNA Council and CPD sub-committee have been, and still are, working on new and exciting on-line education programmes which will enable members in even the most remote areas of the country to meet the CPD Scheme requirements

The CPD Scheme will run annually, with veterinary nurses enrolling on the Scheme by 30 January each year, and accruing the points required to complete the Scheme by 15 December that same year. Veterinary nurses are encouraged to maintain the professional currency by re-enrolling each year.

All those successfully completing the Scheme will be awarded a certificate and a badge. Their names will be entered on a formal list that will be held and maintained by the NZVNA. Where possible, a presentation will be made to the successful veterinary nurses at the Annual Conference.

The only person who can take full responsibility for your education and the progress of your chosen career is yourself. So I strongly encourage all of you to take advantage of this excellent opportunity.
